Happpy 50th Birthday to me!When I made the reservation, I requested a quiet table but we were seated in a room next to a large party of all men who were very loud. We do, too. We ordered an appetizer and the waiter did not wait for us to order our entrees, turned on his heels and left, leaving the menus in front of us. For my money there are much better restaurants in Memphis.

We asked to move and were then seated in a quiet room with no other diners. I like it, but my wife did not. Order online from Iris Restaurant on MenuPages. Lamb shank shepherds pie.
Of course, the restaurant is very expensive, but I was surprised how much drinks were.
Or book now at one of our other 1131 great restaurants in Memphis. Great dining experience. Plain and bland.
Don't know why we could not have a table in that room or some other quiet area to start with per our initial request.The food and service were incredible.
Restaurant Iris was absolutely a delight--fantastic food--still dreaming about the foie gras risotto.
The Halibut was over salted...almost to the point that I should have sent it back. Two of the 7 courses that we ordered suffered from seasoning issues, but the common thread was mediocrity.

Had he been friendly and brought our bread prior to our starter the whole experience could have been excellent.
Would absolutely go back for any occasion. I guess the streamers were enough? The crawfish beignets were overcooked and lacked any elevated touch.
The chocolate toffee doughnuts were also a disappointing end to our dinner.

I had the Kobe beef with potatoes, she had the scallops with all the beets. It is an icon with title Down Triangle.
We were the 2nd table to arrive and were placed in the back room of the restaurant which I thought odd since we had made reservations and wondered why we were being shoved to the back. We shared the deconstructed lemon meringue pie.
The saffron potatoes and bone marrow tartar shinned...but the star of the dish should have been the beef.

I have dined at Iris on multiple occasions, including some very special wine dinners and my 60th birthday celebration. A little bland, not much taste.
However, if this is your only Iris experience, I'm sure it will be fine.There’s a reason why everyone includes this restaurant on their best of Memphis. It was a very nice Mother’s Day brunch.

I had shrimp and grits with a poached egg and it was delicious.
