Freshwater drum grows large and lives in cooler waters from Tennessee north. It tasted terrible especially compared to the perch!! My friend thought I was caught on somthing then this thing got to the surface. Regardless, nice fish, guys! You should see how big we catch them in open water trolling!

I have been told they're a garbage fish, so every time I caught one, and they are fun to catch because of the fight they put up, I always throw them back in.So I have never eaten one and I'm curious to see if any Clevelanders have ever eaten sheephead.

We're in Destin, Florida for Christmas vacation and caught sheepshead, black drum and red drum.
Nice video guys, looks like you kept the old guy busy netting fish. I have eaten perch walleye, etc. Caught the fish at a bridge, 19 fish in all, using shrimp and Berkley Gulp artificials. Sheephead, anybody eat them. "Sheepshead !!!!
(Spit it out) So I moved on and kept eating and eating good (perch) then I got into another piece of bad tasting fish, and then I remembered! "I thought, I got a bad piece of fish !! people try to keep them for a period of time and that is where the problem lies. !

No eating sheepshead after that! Actually they are quite good, that is from experience...the problem is that sheepshead do not freeze well at all.
