These rivers have just started to open up but have another 10-14 days before I believe the surrounding shorelines will be open. This is the first river to open up due to the size and flow created by spring run off.The Oconto and Peshtigo are two of the four major tributaries on the west shore of the Bay. The primary fishing locations is from the De Pere lock and dam to the Bay of Green Bay, which is about 7 miles worth of water. Many larger fish (>20 inches) were collected at Algonquin and Oswego. Throughout the river small (4-10 inches) bass were very abundant indicating good future numbers of larger fish.Walleye were collected at 9 of the 15 Fox River mainstem stations sampled in 2012.
Battle on Bago 2020 was a great success for it was held on Lake Winnebago on the 20 th and the 21 st this month of June 2020. One 38" muskie was collected at Silver Springs, a location which often produces multiple fish.By far the most abundant sportfish, smallmouth bass are common throughout much of the middle and lower river segments and in larger tributaries. Algonquin was particularly good in 2012 sampling, with many fish over 14 inches.
