The vast & plush green grassy fields for camping sites, the mesmerizing blue ocean upfront, the beautiful surfing beach allure, the complete tranquility & serenity that you arrive at only after half an hour or so drive from the madness of city traffic are the factors overwhelm you with grandeur. The green hills surrounding the beach are that of the Killalea state park. They don’t take cash, so your card details are charged for ice or even a late check out fee.....$30 a site if you get to the gate at 10.45.
After negotiating a $30 gate fe for both sites I was told if I made a complaint my fee would go back to $60. First wedding of 2018 and straight back into it at the gorgeous Killalea State Park! Unfortunately I won’t return nor will my fellow camping friends. Killalea Beach (“The Farm”) is the most heavily utilised part of the park, being primarily used by surfers. Staff are very abrupt and aggressive when you question being charged such an absorbent gate fee. This has to be one of my faves because it was one of the most chilled out weddings I have photographed.

Sad to see such an awesome place be ruined by new caretakers. Ultimate wedding day vibe! This truly made me feel right at home. After the Killalea lagoon loop you can either walk towards Mystics beach. Joe & Sharon wanted a cruisy wedding to celebrate their two […] What a magical place. It is a magical spot but watch out for the speed humps on the way down to the car park, they are gnarly! Great place to camp and enjoy the outdoors, even in Winter. They were super excited to share their stories and photos and we sat chatting about their time away for an hour.

This session was exactly brought about by this idea. It is a popular surfing beach in the Shellharbour region and it recognised as a national surfing reserve.
