This L word should be re-branded as a political drama and a show trying to tick all their politically correct boxes to prove how inclusive and with the times they are. The L Word is back with hot lesbian sex , keep it all lesbian the trans story nearly killed it just like alan cummings was such a miscast in the past. The original L word had a lot of character development and story lines unique to each character. This season continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter, Alice Pieszecki and Shane McCutcheon, along with new characters Dani Nùñez, Micah Lee, Finley, Sophie Suarez and Gigi as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A.Ten years after we last left them, we find Bette running for mayor of Los Angeles; Shane as she returns to the city after a setback; and Alice learning to balance co-parenting with her fiancée Nat and Nat’s ex-wife Gigi and the rising success of her talk show. This would have been better if it were just a continuation of the original, even if just with the older cast and a continuing story. Shane helps Finley, while Alice is annoyed when the network forces her to bring on a new staff member. All the characters lives are seperate and while they work together, it does not feel like they are close friends except for the OG three (Bette, Shane, Alice). Stopped watching this one 30 min into ep 1 b/c it’s waaaaaay too political. there are some good story lines here but the dysfunction is just simply annoying to watch. Dani, busy on the election, Sophie feels relieved to have Finley around. This season continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter, Alice Pieszecki and Shane McCutcheon, along with new characters Dani Nùñez, Micah Lee, Finley, Sophie Suarez and Gigi as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A.
